Nail Avulsion

Nail avulsion is a minor surgical procedure performed to treat painful and recurrent nail conditions, most commonly ingrown toenails and selected nail disorders. The procedure involves partial or complete removal of the nail plate to relieve pain, control infection, and allow proper healing of the underlying nail bed.

Nail avulsion is recommended when conservative treatments such as medications, trimming, or dressings fail to provide relief. Conditions such as recurrent ingrown nails, nail infections, nail trauma, and certain nail deformities may require this procedure for definitive management.
