Punch excision and surgical removal are minor dermatologic procedures used for the safe and precise removal of selected benign skin lesions. The procedures involve physically excising the lesion using a punch instrument or surgical technique, ensuring accurate removal down to the required depth.

These procedures are commonly performed for skin tags, DPNs (Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra), and warts, especially when lesions are larger, recurrent, or not suitable for non-surgical methods. Punch excision allows removal of small, well-defined lesions with minimal surrounding tissue involvement, while surgical excision is preferred for lesions requiring controlled depth and closure.
